Mc Cine (Multi cert Creator is not easy-rsa) exists since 2014 and even when it took a bit but a new release has been made (actually multiple but not mentioned here, sorry).
The current release v3.3 will not just let you self-sign your SSL websites and such but also allows to create and sign S/MIME certificates for secure Email communication.
I use openPGP since decades and will doing so in the future but S/MIME is more accepted (by users and more important software, e.g Outlook etc).
Another thing you may have noticed is that I moved the program code to github (I guess that will change in the near future to gitlab though).
This makes issue tracking easier, helps in sharing the code and at the end should give the best user experience.
